Windows 11 Version 24H2 – Common Bugs and Easy Fixes

At the back end of 2024, Windows released its latest Windows 11 update, the highly anticipated Windows 11 version 24h2. Unfortunately, the rollout didn’t exactly run smoothly, and the update has been plagued with a number of annoying little bugs and glitches that still haven’t been fully rectified yet. Needless to say, Windows users were not exactly thrilled.

This latest update promised to upgrade Microsoft’s AI Copilot, improve performance, enhance stability, and provide a number of other benefits that sounded great on paper, or onscreen rather, yet didn’t exactly deliver. Regrettably, users who went ahead and installed the update quickly began reporting a series of bugs, glitches, and other issues, which left them far from impressed.

Even now, in Spring 2025, a few pesky and frustratingly persistent Windows 11 bugs remain, leaving users frantically seeking help on how to install Windows 11.

For those who are looking how to get help in Windows regarding the latest update, the following should prove especially useful. Here are some common Windows 11 version 24h2 bugs and what you can do to resolve them.

Network Connection Issues

One of the most common reasons why people may be looking for how to get help in Windows is that the latest update is still causing connection issues for some users.

A percentage of users who proceeded with the update have reported a number of internet connectivity issues ever since. Users connected via either WIFI or Ethernet now sometimes struggle to connect to the internet and get a valid IP address. This means that they are effectively unable to browse the web and establish a network connection.

If this applies to you, some users have reported moderate success when switching out a dynamic IP address for a static one.

Camera Issues

Another fairly common Windows 11 version 24h2 bug seems to be one which affects integrated cameras on some PCs.

Users who use the Windows Hello facial recognition tool, the Windows camera app, or other devices that utilize the camera have found the camera unresponsive.

Right now, the only real “fix” is to not use the camera or any features that rely upon the camera. Microsoft is still working on a fix, yet some users are still experiencing camera problems.

Network Sharing Problems

Some users are asking how to install Windows 11 again because the latest update appears to have caused network sharing problems for them.

The update appears to cause computers and other devices to not show up in the network list. This is especially frustrating because it means that users are unable to share printers and/or files between different devices.

This problem is likely caused by the FDResPub (Function Discovery Resource Publication). Setting FDResPub to start manually, as opposed to automatically, can help to resolve this issue.

Printer Problems

Another fairly common glitch affecting Windows 11 version 24h2 is one which affects users with PCs that utilize Copilot.

A number of users who upgraded to the latest version of Windows 11 quickly reported that, since upgrading, they were unable to use their printers. Not only could they not print documents, but they were unable to even set up the printer at all. Printer brands most commonly affected include Brother, HP, and Canon, though other brands are also experiencing problems.

While Microsoft did recently put out a support article, they don’t yet appear to have rectified the issue. Again, the only real “fix” as of right now is to simply sit tight and wait until Microsoft can get to the bottom of what’s going on.

Outlook Not Launching with Google Workspace Sync Installed

Finally, perhaps most frustratingly of all for Outlook users, the latest Windows 11 update appears to prevent Microsoft Outlook from loading if users already have Google Workspace Sync Installed.

The problem appears to be affecting users who have older versions of Google Workspace Sync installed. Microsoft has now blocked the latest update for users with the older versions, and installing the latest version does appear to resolve the issue. If you’re looking to get help in Windows 11 because you’re experiencing Outlook issues, if you have Google Workspace Sync installed, make sure you’re running the latest version.
